IEC 61089 - Round wire concentric lay overhead electrical stranded conductors. All Aluminum Conductor can be used as a bare overhead conductor for distribution lines. Because of its low strength-to-weight ratio, (AAC) has limited use in transmission lines. AAC is extensively used in urban areas where spans are usually short but high conductivity is required.
